Life is a Curious Quest

The Apartment

I'm back in San Diego and just about settled in my apartment. Classes don't start until Thursday so I've got some time to burn.

The apartment is pretty nice, and I've got the largest room. Granted, I'm sharing it with someone else, but it's still huge compared to my dorm room. Last year's triple was probably half the size of the double I'm in now. Plus, we have the master bathroom to ourselves. Quite the upgrade.

The apartment has everything we need: washer, dryer, microwave, stove, dishwasher, fridge, and even a TV that the previous tenants left for us. They left a bunch of junk too, I guess I'll have to start sorting through it.

The neighborhood is nice, but very quiet and apparently hard-assed. We had two noise complaints the day I moved in. One was unofficial; the old lady across the street walked over and gave me a lecture about the rules of the place after asking us to turn the music down. Annoying, but fair enough. That night, we got an official complaint (enough of which supposedly leads to fines) that we don't understand at all. We were barely making any noise at all when we were complained about. The thing that boggles my mind the most is that the other guys living here have been here for about a month and haven't had any complaints so far. Believe me, I'm not the loud one. Go figure.
