The Soap Saga
After being initially dropped off in the apartment and staying the night, one of the first things I noticed was that I needed soap. We had meant to bring some down, but the bag it was in was forgotten in the closet back home. I decided that we could pick up a bar at the grocery store when we went out for food the next day. In all the shopping we simply forgot and I was again left with no soap.
In my first few days here I had to bum soap off of the other guys, waiting for a trip to the store to get some of my own. I, of course, forgot every time we went. I forgot my soap on at least two separate store trips. By then the soap problem had been on my mind for around six days.
Today I was looking in a cupboard I hadn't yet peeked into and, lo and behold, no fewer than 15 bars of Irish Spring soap are lying there laughing at me. How very ironic. I never thought soap could become such a big deal.
