Life is a Curious Quest

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train

I had watched the first season of Demon Slayer a few years back and really enjoyed it: solid execution of the core shounen genre in an interesting setting and with a beautiful art style. While Mugen Train took me a few episodes (as I watched the "episodic" cut on Netflix) to warm up to it again, the conclusion was extremely satisfying. Plenty of standard shounen action and hot-blooded yelling, solid action, and interesting villains. The story focuses on themes like determination in the face of overwhelming odds, the cycle of human life, and the importance of hope for the future. I am a total sucker for stuff like this, so it carried way more emotional weight than I was expecting going in. Absolutely glad I came back to the series and looking forward to exploring some of the remaining seasons.
